About us
The Wrench in the Works collective operates a community space in Willimantic, CT. The Wrench is open to the public and offers a radical lending library, coffeehouse, and space for leftist anti-authoritarians, progressives and radicals to meet, organize projects and hold events.
We strive to be a non-heirarchical organization, with decisions made collectively by members at semimonthly consensus-based meetings. We have no managers or paid staff. We rely on member dues and donations from those who use and enjoy the space to pay the rent and keep the lights on.
DIRECTIONS:
Wrench in the Works is in the lower level of 31 Moulton Ct (known locally as "the warehouse") behind a weathered red door, at the end of a ramp, to the right of a loading dock.
From the east, south and west these directions are from the famous Frog bridge: go north (away from the bridge) onto Jackson St. Go straight thru one stoplight (at Valley St). A church and then a school will be on your right; take the first Right turn after the school onto Milk St. Moulton Ct is an immediate Left turn. The warehouse is on the Right, the first driveway (downhill) is to the lower level.
From the north/UConn: Pass the mall and US-6. At the next light there are gas stations on either side of the road; go straight (don't follow the left turn for 195). Go straight thru the next light (at Prospect St) and watch for the Left turn onto Milk St (before the school.) Moulton Ct is an immediate Left turn- as above.
Parking for big events is somewhat limited, but there is ample and free public parking ("P" on the map) along the Airline Trail between Milk and Union Sts. There is plenty of space inside the warehouse for bikes.
